Platelet Rich plasma
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a procedure that uses a concentrated component of your own blood. A small sample of blood is collected and processed to increase the concentration of platelets. The platelet- rich portion is prepared for use during the same clinical session. The entire process is performed in clinic by a registered health practitioner.
In Cosmetic Practice, PRP maybe considered as part of a treatment approach for:
Skin texture concerns
Acne scarring
Fine lines
General skin quality changes associated with ageing
The suitability of PRP depends on your individual condition, medical history and clinical assessment.
Risks may include pain or discomfort at the treatment site, swelling or bruising, infection, bleeding and temporary inflammation.
Multiple treatments are needed and results between individuals very and outcome cannot be guranteed.
Recommendations are based on individual anatomy, skin condition, medical history and treatment goals. All procedures are performed by qualified health practitioners, and potential risks and benefits, alternatives and limitations are discussed prior to obtaining informed consent. Outcomes vary between individuals, and specific results cannot be guaranteed.
